In the Mexica mythology (also known as Aztec), Mictlantecuhtli is the Lord of the Underworld and Death. Some of the main elements in his representations are his skinless skull face, ornaments made from owl feathers, and a necklace made outof eyes.
This special edition, with a stone sculpture style that resembles being carved by the Mexicas themselves. It has a real obsidian stone on its chest! A stone of great ritual importance for the Mexicas, who believed that obsidian was created when lightning stroke the earth, thus constituting theunion between the earthly and divine.
